Sonic, Knuckles, and Tails reunite to face a powerful new foe, Shadow, a mysterious villain with powers unlike any they’ve faced before. The creators of the previous films have mentioned playing both Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (2001) and Shadow the Hedgehog (2005) as a solo game for inspiration.
