Narrative

When an 8-year-old girl goes missing in Caddo Lake, a series of past deaths and disappearances begin to connect, altering the story of a broken family. There is a scene where Anna’s mother says Marshall County, then she says Harrison County.

Don’t Ever Change Written by Dylan Altman, Rodney Clawson, and Jake Mitchell Starring Rodney Clawson. Caddo Lake is a mesmerizing tale that doesn’t fully kick into gear until the film’s “back half.” The first hour is slow and somewhat dull, but the twists and turns the narrative eventually takes more than make up for the poor pacing.

Verdict:
Slow first half with an interesting story that ends on a strong note

Dylan O’Brien is strong here, and it’s great to see him back in a lead role, but the script doesn’t give him much to draw from. I think it will take a second viewing to fully understand where the story ends up.

Give the movie time to develop

I recommend this as an “easy” movie night. The final season of “What We Do in the Shadows” is one of the biggest TV and streaming premieres this month.
